What is Multitenancy?

Multitenancy is an architecture that makes it possible to serve more than one customer/tenant by a single instance of an application. Although the application operates in a shared environment, the tenants are separated logically, that is, each tenant has got access to its own database on the given server.

For example, a major multitenant solution is the Cloud Control Center (CCC) and both Produmex WMS and Produmex Scan are compatible with it. The specific installation steps are included in the installation guide of the Produmex add-ons.

Is Multitenancy supported by Produmex products?

From product version 2020.06, Produmex Scan and Produmex WMS support Multitenancy on SAP HANA 2.0.

Must different parameters be used when installing the Produmex Service Broker on a single-database and on a multi-database?

On SAP HANA 2.0 the following parameters must be used during installation:

In the Database Server field provide the database server name with the exact same format as it was added during the installation of the SAP Business One client. 

• Single-Database: The name or the IP address of the database server must be used.
• Multi-Database: The DATABASENAME parameter must be used: DBA@< >.

 In the Database Port field provide the database port on which the application can connect to the server. 

• Single-Database: The default port is 30015.
• Multi-Database: The default port is 30013.

When working on CCC, add the domain username to the Domain username field and enter the password to the Domain password field.

Are there any limitations?

Produmex Service Broker must be installed on a separate server and each tenant needs a separate Produmex Service Broker.

Produmex WMS

Must different parameters be used when setting up the Produmex Suite Installer on a single-database and on a multi-database?

On SAP HANA 2.0 the following parameters must be used during installation:

DB server address: Provide the domain name of the server where the database is installed and the port number of the database server should also be included.

• Single-Database: The default port number is 30015.
• Multi-Database: By default, the DATABASENAME parameter is DBA@< > and the default port is 30013. The DBA parameter can be changed to other parameter set by administrators.  Example:

The License Server must be installed on a separate server and a separate License Server is recommended for each tenant.
