The Machine/Work Center View highlights production orders routed through specific work or machine centers. You can define a default color in the color setup, and assign individual colors directly on the machine or work center card.
This view is especially helpful when monitoring bottleneck resources that require special attention, as it allows you to visually distinguish them.
Applying the Machine/Work Center View
You can activate the view in three ways:
- When creating a new simulation by selecting it as the Default View Color Type
- On the Production simulations" page, you can choose it as Default View Color Type:
- Within the Visual Schedule via Actions → View Color Mode → Item View
Note: The machine/work center color is applied to individual production order routing lines (operations), not entire orders.
Adjusting Default Colors
You can customize the default colors used in the Machine/Work Center View to suit your preferences. This is done in the "General" section of the Color Setup page.
The image below shows the default machine/work center color provided by the VAPS:
Set Individual Colors for Specific Machine/Work Centers
If you want to highlight specific machine or work centers, you can assign individual colors directly on their respective cards. This allows you to visually distinguish critical or bottleneck resources.
Example:
The screenshot below shows a production schedule with the Machine/Work Center View applied, using the following settings:
-
Default machine/work center color: Based on production order status
-
Custom color for machine center "Drilling #2": Red
