FAQ - Authorizations (and permissions)

Q: Do B1UP have an Authorization tree like the rest of SAP Business One
A: Yes, it is integrated into SAP's own authorization tree.

Q: What are your default authorizations?
A: As default when you install B1UP all users get permissions to all features except for the Master Data Manager module (only super-users get default permissions). When you create a new user they default have no permissions (SAP standard)

Q: Can I create my own custom authorizations?
A: Yes, use SAP's additional authorization system or make custom authorizations using the B1 Validation System.

Q: Why do certain users not see the Right-click configuration features?
A: All the configuration right-click features are only shown to SAP Superusers as default. If you wish to also give the right-click features to other users you can do that in the Options tab in the main configuration.

Q: Can B1UP make a certain field read-only for certain users?
A: Yes, have a look at the Make items read-only module

Q: Can use B1UP to control data ownership (Example: a User can only see certain BPs)
A: No, while being a very asked for feature the SAP SDK simply does not allow us to make such a system.
