You can choose how you wish to color the bars in your Gantt chart on the fifth tab of the Settings modal. You can also open it directly by selecting Settings from the top menu bar, then click the brush icon as shown below.
Doing so displays a table of color schemes. By default, it lists two items: Default w/ Execute Mode and Waiting times. You can create your own schemes by clicking the + icon in the top right corner, or remove any scheme using the trash bin icon. Click the pencil () icon to open and edit a scheme.
When you specify a new scheme, you may want to add it to the Default w/ Execute Mode by ticking the Extend Default checkbox (indicated by a red arrow in the screenshot below). The result will be the same as if you had edited the Default w/ Execute Mode scheme by adding a new rule (row) to it.
A scheme specification consists of a list of rules determining the colors of the bars in your plan. A rule specifies a value for a field used in jobs (production orders) and tasks (operations), and then assigns a color to this field-value pair. The fields can be selected from a dropdown, the values may come from a dropdown or can be entered, and, finally, when you click in the Color column, a color picker will pop up where you make your choice.
If more than one rule is met at the same time, it is always the last one of them in the list that actually takes effect.
The screenshot below shows the content of the Default w/ Execute Mode scheme.
As an example, we have added one more rule to this scheme, to highlight the bars representing production order (DocumentNumber) 220. You can see how we have used the color picker for this below.
In order to make use of a color scheme in your plan, you need to select it from the Highlight dropdown under the Understand/Schedule top menu item, shown in a red frame in the following screenshot.
As a result of selecting the scheme Default w/ Execute Mode from the dropdown, the bars for production order #220 have turned purple. One of the rules for Job Status has also been met, but as the rule for DocumentNumber is the last one on the list, the latter has been applied.
