Onboarding to Build, Produce and Inspect for SAP Business One – A checklist of the first steps

  • Updated

The purpose of this checklist is to support our partners during the onboarding process and to avoid known stumbling blocks to enable a smooth and fast deployment for the customers. The list is structured in a logical order and can therefore be used as an onboarding checklist for each customer implementation.

Check your readiness for Cloud Apps

Before installing Cloud Apps

  • Make sure the IP addresses used by Cloud Apps to communicate with SAP Business One are whitelisted in your firewall setup.
  • Make sure that the object IDs used by Cloud Apps are enabled for Post Transaction Notification in SAP Business One. You may also want to check out the related SAP Note.
  • Check that Post Transaction Notification can be executed and is not blocked another SAP Business One addon. If you need to add your custom code, please refer to this article.
  • Decide whether you can use the Cloud Apps Installer add-on, or you need manual installation. (For background information, click here.)
  • If you work in an SAP Business One Cloud hosted by SAP, make sure that no proxy server blocks Cloud Apps.
  • If possible, avoid synchronizing several Cloud Apps applications and / or databases simultaneously. For example, start first with Produce and then continue with Inspect. This way, the user can already use Produce if Inspect is still in setup.

How to install Cloud Apps

Prepare your data properly in SAP Business One

  • Make sure that all items, resources, and customers used in your production orders are in Active status in SAP Business One. Run check queries that help to identify these potential issues. (See Data consistency rules.)
  • Check that all resources in your production orders in SAP Business One have a Time per Resource Units parameter greater than <0:00:00>. (See Data consistency rules.)
  • Make sure your production orders have at least one route stage specified in SAP Business One. (See Data consistency rules.)
  • Route stages in SAP Business One are mapped as operations into Produce / Manager and Produce / Operator. It is not recommended to change or delete a route stage in a production order in SAP Business One after the production order has been released. (For further details, see Data consistency rules.)
