Log in to the Boyum Portal and navigate to Application Management.
Connect SAP database(s)
Select the Databases tab to configure the connection of Cloud Apps with the database you want to use in SAP Business One.
Check the Active checkbox to indicate that the database is in use. Inactive databases are ignored by Cloud Apps.
Check the Default settings checkbox if you are planning to set up multiple databases on the same server, and you designated one of them as master. The Service Layer URL, the username and password of the master database are used by other database definitions by default. The master database serves only as a template for other databases and cannot be used as a database.
Fill in the fields as follows.
- Name: The descriptive name of the database. This is displayed on the database selection page of Cloud Apps.
- Database name: Make sure to copy here the name of the database from SAP Business One.
- URL: The public address of the SAP Business One Service Layer, e.g. https://<address>:50000/b1s/v1/. For details of connecting to the Service Layer see SAP connection setup.
- Username and password: The credentials used by the synchronization tasks of Cloud Apps to connect to the SAP Business One Service Layer.
- Order: A numeric value that defines the display order of the databases in the Portal.
- Region: The geographical region where the Cloud Apps services run and where the data is stored. These regions (environments) have been created to provide the best performance possible. For that reason, test and demo databases are separated from real, live customer data, and using servers in different locations helps minimize latency. For example, if you are located in North America, you will prefer to use cloud resources hosted there because the communication will be faster. You can select from three options here (you can change your selection later):
- Partner Demo Environment - Environment for all test and demo databases. Its servers are located in Western Europe.
- Customer (West Europe) - Environment for live customer databases, with servers located in Western Europe.
- Customer (North America) - Environment for live customer databases, with servers located in North America.
The region selection determines the IP addresses that Cloud Apps uses to communicate with SAP Business One. For further details, see Installation step 3: Enable communication with SAP Business One.
On the User groups and Users tabs you can configure the access rights of your users. You need at least one user to complete the setup of Cloud Apps, otherwise you cannot login to Cloud Apps to perform the installation. For details, see Configure user groups and user rights in the Boyum Portal.
