Partner Program - General
Q: How are the partner points calculated?
A: Partners are rewarded with points by completing different requirements such products certifications (sales and technical), marketing activities, and revenue generation. Points related with revenue are calculated based on different factors depending on the solution, deployment, etc. Here you can find a table with all calculation rules, which may change every year by adding or adjusting incentives for promoting products, services and initiatives:

(*) The maximum number of points from certifications is 50.000 per year. In the case of products with multiple certification levels, we will grant 10.000 points when the different certification levels are completed. Exception apply for Netronic Manufacturing sales & implementation certification, where each one will grant 10.000 points. More information is in our Certification Program article.
(**) The maximum number of points from Marketing initiatives rewarded yearly is 40.000. Points are only granted when Boyum Marketing approves it.
Our currency is Euros, and the Boyum Portal automatically converts partner revenue into Euros based on the official exchange rate from the European Central Bank. The exchange rate is based on a fixing date, meaning that transactions of the following month follow the exchange rate of the last day of the last month, excl. tax.
Q: How does Upgrading work?
A: We understand the importance of recognizing and rewarding your commitment promptly. Therefore, we offer the opportunity for partners to upgrade their partner level at the beginning of each month. To upgrade, the partner must reach the minimum points needed to fulfill the commitments of the next tier in the Partner Program. For example, a SILVER partner has delivered three marketing initiatives, certified two consultants (at least one per solution they are selling), and generated EUR 130K in revenue. Then, in March 2024, the partner closed a deal of EUR 25K, reaching the revenue commitment of GOLD. On April 1st, 2024, this partner will be upgraded from SILVER to GOLD.
Q: How does Downgrading work?
A: A partner will be downgraded in June 30th/December 31st if they do not have enough valid points to stay in the current tier, or do not meet the certified consultant or marketing initiative requirements, as long as they are not within the 6 months protection period. Continuing from the previous example, the partner was upgraded to GOLD in on March 31st, 2024, but has 30,000 points from the previous year expiring in May 2024. The partner should therefore be downgraded to SILVER with effect from July 2024. However, in this example, the partner is in the protection period and will remain GOLD until the next review in December 2024.
Q: What is the protection period for upgrading or downgrading in the Partner Program?
A: Upgrading happens on a running monthly basis with a 6-month “protection period” for the partner after upgrading, which means that the partner cannot be downgraded for 6 months from the date of upgrade.
Q: If a partner upgrades in February 2024, can the partner be downgraded in June 2024, in the partner program review?
A: No, the partner cannot be downgraded in June 2024 because the partner is under the 6-month “protection period”.
Q: When the points are granted for new subscription sales?
A: No matter the subscription is for 12 months, 24, months or 36 months. The points of the whole purchase is granted at the moment of purchasing.
Q: Will partners get points from renewals?
A: Renewals do not grant points for all Boyum solutions, except Netronic Manufaturing. During 2024, Bronze and Silver partners get 1 point from Netronic Manufacturing Renewal for each EURO paid, and Gold and Platinum partners get 1.5 points from each EURO paid.
