At Boyum IT, we support our partners in executing marketing activities. Marketing Development Funds (MDF) are available to all partners on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to approval and available budget. You can request funding for a marketing initiative here.
Q: What is the Marketing Development Funds (MDF)?
A: At Boyum IT, we support our partners in executing marketing activities, therefore partners are being encouraged to be proactive in taking the gamut of our solutions to the market. MDF plays a significant role when the partners want to conduct initiatives like physical/onsite events, email/SoMe campaigns etc.
Q: What % of the cost of a partner's marketing initiative can be co-financed with MDFs?
A: Boyum IT can co-fund up to a maximum of 50% of the total cost of the Marketing initiative aimed at promoting exclusively Boyum products.
Q: What type of marketing initiatives can be co-financed with MDFs?
A: Paid ads, cold calling via a telemarketing agency, third-party ads and third-party webinars aimed at promoting Boyum solutions, directed towards generating leads (either in existing clients or new clients of a partner), and capable of reporting at the end of the activity a number of leads that are being commercially worked to sell a Boyum product, can be co-financed.
Q: Could a partner's marketing initiative promoting products not exclusively from Boyum be co-financed using MDFs?
A: If the marketing initiative is anticipated to generate leads for the Boyum solution/s, MDFs can be allocated but should be divided by the total number of all solutions promoted. For instance, if the partner is promoting SAP B1, B1 UP, along with another non-Boyum add-on, the cost should be divided among the three, and MDFs will cover up to 50% of one-third of the total cost.
Q: What happens if MDF has been approved for a specific Marketing Initiative, but at the end of the activity, there are zero leads generated?
A: The partner will still receive the approved MDF (and invoice Boyum accordingly) for that activity. However, the portal report will indicate that this initiative has not generated any results (0% ROI). If the partner requests MDFs for the same type of activity in the following year, the MDFs will not be approved. Instead, the partner should review and propose an alternative or different approach to the marketing initiative.
Q: What are the key deadlines for MDF initiatives?
A: The partner must submit their MDF requests by the end of February. Approved campaigns must go live no later than the end of Q2, and the lead generation period runs from the campaign launch date through the end of Q3.
