For Trust Payments you have the option of choosing the type of transaction used when adding a new credit card.
The choice is between two options; AUTH and ACCOUNTCHECK - this article will outline the differences between them to help you choose the one that suits your needs.
AUTH is the default option.
It validates the newly added card by performing a 0.01 Auth transaction against the card to ensure that it is valid.
This can be confusing to some customers if they do not understand or expect where this charge is coming from, which is one of the reasons some might prefer to use ACCOUNTCHECK instead.
ACCOUNTCHECK is an alternative option to get around the problems with AUTH.
Using this option, the card will be checked for validity by performing checks against the cardholder information, thus avoiding a transaction against the card.
It should be noted that ACCOUNTCHECK is not enabled on accounts by default, so you will need to speak to your account manager to have it enabled before switching to this option, otherwise, you will receive errors.
