How many Beas personnel can use the Terminal licenses?

There are no limits, you can have 100 personnel and only 5 in a type of terminal licenses. Everyone will be able to access the terminal but only up to 5 at a time. When a 6^th user logs in to the terminal, they will not be able to access the apps that do not have licenses available.

What licenses are consumed by a user who connects to the terminal?

There are different types of terminal licenses, e.g. production data collection, issue and receipt, quality control, inventory among others; each of them gives access to a set of applications available for the terminal. In addition, each personnel is configured with an authorization group, so one operator can see only quality and inventory applications, and another can see only PDC applications, depending on the configuration of each one.

When the user logs in to the terminal (desktop or web), all terminal licenses associated with the authorization group will be IN USE for as long as the user remains connected, and will be released to another user when the user logs out.

I have shopfloor terminals and other users using the terminal from the WebApp - can I ensure that the shopfloor terminals always have licenses?

Yes, from the license administration window you could assign each terminal license to a workstation, SAP user or personnel. When a user accesses the terminal, the system will check if there is a license assigned and will use it. Those licenses will remain exclusive for workstation or user, but only for one use at a time. Therefore, if it is assigned to a user, the reservation is assured for a first connection, but if the user accesses it again at the same time from another device, this will be discounted from another available license.

I have 3 terminal Licenses, 2 users are working in the terminal but when another user accesses the terminal there is no license available.

You must ensure that a user is not logged in twice, otherwise they will be consuming two licenses. In the license administration window, you can see the connected users and the terminal licenses they are using.

You must also make sure that the user logs off when finished using the terminal, otherwise the license will remain in use and will not be available to another user.

A user closed the WebApps, but when he tries to connect again there are no licenses available.

Make sure that the user logs out of the terminal, otherwise the license will remain in use; especially in the web terminals, when the user does not log out but closes the browser, the license will remain in use for a few minutes until the system verifies and releases the license.

Some users when connecting to the terminal do not have access to some applications.

When a type of terminal license is not available at the moment the user logs in, its apps are shown in gray. This means that they will not be available until another user stops using the license, as the check  of license availability is performed at the moment of login.

Be sure to evaluate the volume of concurrent users: if you have 50 personnel in the factory but 10 work at the same time, you may require 10 terminal licenses. 

I have reserved licenses for a user, but he has logged on to the terminal and he does not have some licenses

Make sure that the user is IN USE more than once, as the assignation of a license is exclusive for one use at a time. The reservation is assured for a first connection, but if the user accesses again at the same time from another device, this will be discounted from another available license. You could use the License administration screen to see the Current Connections.

A user left a web session open, is it possible to close it manually?

You could manually disconnect a user from the administration window.

A quality operator has access to several applications, but I want to reserve only the quality license for him.

Terminal licenses are assigned by license type, so in this example, you could assign only the quality control licenses to the user and not assign the rest.
