You can see a number of icons under the Update menu item.
Of those, the functionalities of the ones highlighted in green are discussed under Update - Data import / export from / to SAP Business One. Those in the orange frame are covered in Update - Managing jobs (production orders) and tasks (operations). Finally, the ones highlighted in purple are described in Update - Managing resources, resource groups and resource categories.
In this article, we will walk through the remaining icons, one by one.
Clicking this icon will set the baselines for all the jobs (production orders) in your plan. By definition, the baseline is the plan that manages the initial workload properly. It includes the start date, end date, release date, due date, process time, cycle time, throughput time and waiting time for the job. All later changes, deviations start from the baseline.
Jobs without baselines are flagged with a small red B symbol:
When new jobs are added to your plan, you will need to set a new baseline for them. Pressing the icon does not update any already existing baseline. Baseline settings cannot be overwritten or undone as a bulk action. You can only update them for each job separately, using the tooltip menu for the job.
This is a toggle switch designed to display notifications when clicked. Currently it is not used, but may be used in the future. When it becomes operational, it will have a red dot to indicate that you have notification(s) and a number indicating how many of them.
Hitting it triggers the scheduler engine, provided that under Settings / General you selected Run Triggered from the Scheduling Engine dropdown. Otherwise (i.e. when the default value of Run Directly is selected from the dropdown), the icon is disabled. The recommended setting is to allow the scheduling engine to run directly.
This icon is also disabled by default. It gets activated only when you specify a rule for recalculating job sequence numbers under Settings / Job Seq. # Calculation. Then pressing it will trigger the recalculation.
