Known Issue: "Enable Query Validation" is Not Supported in B1 Usability Package

  • Updated

Overview

B1 Usability Package (B1UP) does not support the "Enable Query Validation" feature found in SAP Business One. This applies to both the options under "UI API Configuration" and "DI API Configuration" settings. Enabling these options may lead to unexpected behavior in B1UP and can cause certain functionalities to stop working.

If you have been directed to this article from an error message, please be aware that the error is only set in SAP B1 to capture the user's attention. After receiving the error, SAP can be used normally.

Issue Description

If you activate "Enable Query Validation" for specific tables, it can interfere with the operation of various features in B1UP. For example, adding the "OITM" table (Item Master Data) to the query validation settings will prevent the Item Master Data Manager from functioning correctly. You may encounter errors or experience an inability to load certain forms.

Affected Settings

  1. UI API Configuration:
    • "Enable Query Validation" is unsupported when using B1UP.
  2. DI API Configuration:
    • "Enable Query Validation" is also unsupported for B1UP.

The settings are found under Administration > System Initialization > General Settings > Services.

Recommendation

It is recommended to keep "Enable Query Validation" unchecked for both UI API and DI API configurations when using B1 Usability Package to avoid any conflicts or issues with the product functionalities.

Example Scenarios

If you enable "Enable Query Validation" for the table "OITM" (Item Master Data):

  • The Item Master Data Manager will not function as expected.
  • You may see errors or the form may fail to load.

If you filter the DI API tables, you will end up getting errors even in the installation phase:

Solution

Disable "Enable Query Validation" for the UI-API and the DI-API to resolve the issue. This will restore the normal operation of B1 Usability Package features.
