PRODUMEX WMS - Packing serial numbers

This note will describe the different packing flows for items managed by serial numbers.
The packing is always done by the picklist lines.

 In our example, we have already picked the items:
SERIAL_1 :  SAP Serial Nr / Management Method = On every Transaction / PMX Track location = YES
SERIAL_2 :  SAP Serial Nr / Management Method = On every Transaction / PMX Track location = NO

Picklist:

For SERIAL_1 item serial numbers were asked during the picking process because Track Location of Serial Numbers  is turned ON

For SERIAL_2 item serial numbers were not asked during the picking process because Track Location of Serial Numbers  is turned OFF

Items are picked on a Movable location : CART3

For item SERIAL_1 the picked serial numbers are visible on CART3.
For item SERIAL_2 ALL serial numbers that are on stock is visible.

The picklist status is picked for all picklist lines.

Packing flow , Consolidated packing flow,  Item packing flow
By default the items are grouped on the screen showing you the total of picked / to be packed quantity

You can ungroup / regroup the list that will show you the lines how the items were picked.

Item: SERIAL_1
While packing item SERIAL_1 serial numbers are already linked to the picklist so you need to select them from the Linked Serial numbers list to choose which are the ones you are packing.

Item: SERIAL_2

While packing item SERIAL_2 serial numbers the system asks you to scan the serial numbers by picklist lines as a next step in the flow.  You need to specify the serial numbers at this point of the process.
This refers to Serial Numbers and Serial Numbers – BULK options as well.

Conclusion:

The packing process is designed to do the packing based on the picklist lines.

This means if you have picked in total 10 pieces for SERIAL_2, but the picking is done not from a single location but 3 different ones: 3-1-6, then you need to pack exactly these quantities when you specify the serial numbers. Based on the picklist lines:

The packing for SERIAL_2 will happen like this:

Packing step 1 will ask to pack 3 pieces.

Packing step 2 will ask to pack 1 piece.

Packing step 3 will ask to pack 6 pieces.

If you try to pack more for Packing step 1 then the following check is done:

If you try to pack less for Packing step 1 then the following check is done:
