To avoid any issues from AD or policy restrictions on the LocalSystem user that all services in Windows use by default, as well as for improved security, we recommend that you have a dedicated user for CRM for Outlook on your AD with a non-expiring password, local administrator rights on the server machine, and any rights needed on any network shares you use (eg. for attachments). Please check with your local IT department about this.
To set up this user to run the CRM for Outlook Server Component, go to "services.msc" and select "Properties" for the CRM for Outlook Server Component:
Then go to "Log On":
And enter the user credentials for the CRM for Outlook user you wish to use for running the service:
Please note that if you do not use a user with a non-expiring password this will need to be updated each time the password is changed.
