SAP DI-API Error "-119 - Database server type not supported"

What is the reason for this error and how to fix it?

There can be multiple reasons for this Error

Possible Reason How to Solve

Wrong DB Type Selected
When defining the Server connection you are also defining the Database Type (Example MSSQL2014, MSSQL2106 or HANA). If you chose the wrong type or you have after setup upgrades SQL server you will get this error.

Re-run the server component and check that the Database Type matches the real database
SQL Server Native Client is not installed [MSSQL Only]
In order to connect to MSSQL Server DI-API need some Windows Drivers called SQL Server Native Client. If these are not installed you can get this error

Please install the SQL Server Native Client that matches the SQL server type you are using.

The software does not yet support you Database Type
If you run a version of the software that was released prior to the SAP Version that began supporting you Database type you can get this error

Ask your SAP Partner what version support your Database Version
