The settings in this dialog are applied company-wide. Here you can
- Calculate Job Planning Line Duration: This setting determines how the quantity of job planning lines is calculated. In standard Dynamics 365 Business Central, the quantity is calculated independently of the resource’s capacity. By enabling this option, the VJS overrides that behavior and bases the calculation on the actual capacity of the assigned resource (see also: Calculate job planning line quantity based on resource capacity).
- Hide Resource Summary level for Job Planning Lines: In scenarios where job tasks involve multiple allocations per resource or more than two resources per task, the visualization can become cluttered. To improve clarity, the VJS offers an option to hide the resource summary bar.
-
Enable Employee Absences for calculation: Employee absence times linked to resources can be factored into the plan. These absences are displayed both in the calendar view and in the capacity curve of the histogram, helping ensure more accurate scheduling.
-
Move items along with Job Tasks: The VJS can automatically track changes to the timing of a job task and adjust the timing of the associated item-type job planning line accordingly. This eliminates the need to manually update the job planning line in the job planning line list when the corresponding job task shifts.
