Measurement units are used to measure the results of a variable test.
The scope of the measurement units specified and managed in Inspect / Manager is limited to the Inspect application. They should not be confused with the units of measure used for the items in the inventory stored in your ERP system. For example, an item may be represented in barrels in the ERP inventory but tested for pH in Inspect.
To create a new measurement unit, click the + Add new button in the top right corner of the Inspect / Manager screen, and select Measurement unit from the drop-down list. (Alternatively, you can hit Add measurement unit on the measurement units list page.)
Enter your new unit’s name and its abbreviation. In order to define a consistent precision across all measurements, you also need to enter the number of decimals to be used for your new measurement unit in the tests.
To manage existing measurement units, select Measurement unit from the main menu on the left. A list of measurement units will be displayed.
Press Add measurement unit in the top right corner to create a new unit. Click the options (°°°) icon on the right side of the list to edit the details of the given measurement unit or to delete it. You can also view or edit the details of a measurement unit by selecting its name in the list.
You cannot delete a measurement unit that is used in an inspection plan or an inspection order.
