The figure below illustrates how Boyum Solutions' software portfolio supports the product value chain. Members of the Netronic Manufacturing family, i.e. Build, Schedule, Produce and Inspect are shown in full color.
While Netronic Manufacturing is documented in this Help center, you may also learn more about our logistics and product information management solutions on the Produmex WMS and Perfion pages, respectively.
The position of Produce in the product value chain is highlighted by an orange frame above. Produce consists of two components, one designed for production managers, the other for shop floor operators. Accordingly, Produce / Manager is an organizing, communication and monitoring tool, whereas its counterpart, Produce / Operator creates a computer environment for shop floor workers to enable seamless production, material booking, data registration and reporting. The two applications communicate with each other and your ERP system in real time.
In order to enable quality checks during production, the Produce applications also maintain permanent communication with their Netronic Manufacturing counterparts Inspect / Manager and Inspect / Operator.
If your ERP system is SAP Business One, you can use Schedule to optimize the planning of your production operations in time. In this case, the start and end date and time of your operations will be automatically calculated by Schedule, and displayed in the Produce applications.
Produce / Manager covers the following main shop floor tasks:
Tasks | Related articles in the Help center |
Production backlog management
Order prioritization and preparation
Provision for shop floor operators |
|
Monitoring and tracking the production process |
Depending on your ERP system, a production order must also meet the following conditions to be processable in Produce / Manager and Produce / Operator.
For SAP Business One
A production order ...
- needs to have at least one route stage (operation) specified,
- item(s) and resource(s) in it must be active,
- any resource used in it needs to have its Unit of Measure Text field filled in and its Time per Resource Units parameter set to greater than <0:00:00> in SAP Business One.
For Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
A production order ...
- must be based on a routing line,
- must have a location code,
- must have item(s) that are not blocked,
- needs to have work center(s) or machine center(s) that are not blocked and have their capacities set.
Moreover, any machine center in the order needs to have a work center associated with it.
In Business Central environment, Produce currently does not handle
- package managed items,
- materials/components managed by both lot and serial number (though products can be managed by both),
- expiration date in the output.
