To create a resource, click the + Add new button beside your profile picture, and select Resource.
Alternatively, you can also press Add resource in the top right corner of the list of resources that is displayed when selecting Resource from the main menu on the left.
The Create resource page will be displayed.
You have to fill in / make your selection for the following data:
- Category - SAP Business One uses categories for resources. Select a category from the dropdown list.
- Resource code - Enter a unique identifier (code) for your resource.
- Resource name - Enter a descriptive name for your resource.
- Resource type - Select the type of your resource by clicking one of the option boxes: Labor, Machine or Other.
- Cost rate - The cost of the resource for a time unit in the local currency that is set in your ERP system. Enter a value and select whether it refers to a minute or an hour.
- Resource group - Resources need to belong to a group. Select the relevant one by clicking one of the option boxes.
Once a resource is saved, it is shown on the list of resources. The list can be easily filtered by resource type by selecting a tab in the list header.
Click the name of a resource in the list to view or edit its details. You can also do so by clicking the options (°°°) button on the right side of the list, and then selecting the Edit option.
Either way, you will land on the detail page of the resource.
By default, the page opens with its General tab that contains the name, type and group of the resource. By selecting the other, Costs, tab, you can check or edit the cost rate of the resource.
You can also use the resource detail page to delete the given resource. To do so, click the Delete resource button in the top right corner of the page. The other way of deleting a resource is clicking the options (°°°) button on the right side of the list, and then selecting the Delete option.
Deleting a resource removes it from your ERP system. Deleting master data is only possible if the validation checks are passed. In addition to the ERP validation rules, Build checks whether the given resource is part of an operation plan in a product request. If it is, the resource cannot be deleted.
