Build allows you to
- create item templates in order to facilitate the specification of new items;
- specify presets for your cost calculations.
To access these features, click your profile image in the top right corner of the screen and select Settings from the dropdown menu.
The Settings page is displayed which, by default, opens on the Templates tab, showing the list of available item templates.
Item templates
You can set up item templates to provide shortcuts for item creation, making the process simpler and quicker. An item template passes on the properties of its base item when you use it to specify any new item, including its operation plan.
You can easily check out the specifications of a template's base item by selecting the base item link in the list. The link points to the corresponding item details page.
When a template is used, the base item master data is duplicated from your ERP system. If the base item is deleted, the template disappears from Netronic Manufacturing.
To create a new template, click the Add template button in the top right corner of the Templates screen. The Create item template page will be displayed. Provide a name, description and link a base item from the corresponding dropdown list.
To edit an existing template, select its name from the list. The template's page will be displayed, and you can edit its name, description or pick a different base item for it.
Cost calculation settings
Select the Cost calculation tab of the Settings page to set up the parameters of the cost calculations to be performed in your product requests.
You can specify the following cost-related components:
- Default price lists - Price source and destination
- Cost factors - Indirect labor and material costs, sales and administrative costs, shipping costs
- Sales price mark-up
Default price lists in SAP Business One
Select the SAP Business One price source from the dropdown list. It can be one of the following:
- Current item cost
- Last purchase price
- An SAP Business One price list
If the FIFO valuation method is used in SAP Business One, Build uses the last purchase price for the calculation.
After picking the price source, select the SAP Business One price destination from the second dropdown list. It is an SAP Business One price list.
Cost factors
You can set the following parameters here as percentages.
- Indirect labor cost - The indirect cost related to resources. Enter as a percentage of the direct labor cost.
- Indirect material cost - The indirect cost related to materials. Enter as a percentage of the direct material cost.
- Sales and administration cost - Enter as a percentage of the total labor and material cost (see the formula below).
- Shipping cost - Enter as a percentage of the total labor and material cost (see the formula below).
<Total labor and material cost> = <Direct labor cost> + <Direct material costs> + <Indirect labor cost> + <Indirect material cost>
- Sales price mark-up - Enter as a percentage of the cost of sales.
<Cost of sales> = <Total labor and material cost> + <Shipping cost> + <Sales and administration cost>
