Effective date: February 2, 2026
To stay aligned with Microsoft’s latest security requirements, we will apply an update to our cloud service on February 2, 2026 at 13:00 CET.
Microsoft now requires all connected services to use TLS 1.2 or higher, which strengthens encryption and improves overall platform security.
Impact on CRM for Outlook
Our CRM for Outlook solution already supports TLS 1.2, and therefore:
No update or new version of CRM for Outlook is required
Your current installation is fully compatible with the upcoming changes.
A service restart may be needed
After the update on February 2, there is a possibility that the CRM for Outlook server component may not automatically reconnect using the updated security requirements. If this happens, CRM for Outlook may temporarily stop functioning.
Restarting the CRM for Outlook server component will resolve the issue
A restart will force the system to re-establish a secure connection.
No reinstallation, upgrade, or configuration changes are required.
Recommended Action
If CRM for Outlook unexpectedly stops working after the update:
- Restart the CRM for Outlook server component on the server where it is installed.
- Restart Microsoft Outlook if the Outlook client does not reconnect properly after the update.
These steps will re-establish the connection using the new security settings.
Background on the Change
Microsoft is retiring older encryption protocols (TLS 1.0 and TLS 1.1) to enhance communication security across their services. Only TLS 1.2 or later will be accepted after the update.
This change does not affect CRM for Outlook functionality, it simply ensures a more secure connection.
