Here, you have to fill in the following fields. Make sure you do not use white spaces in the Database Name, URL, Username and Password fields.

  • Name – A name of choice for your database.
  • Database Name – Its syntax is CompanyID:<Company ID>|TenantID:<Tenant ID>|Environment:<Environment>. An example is shown below.
    CompanyID:fe777727-5377-ee11-817b-6045bdc8ac51|TenantID:f36d38ea-bad7-4aaa-9257-b877fd41acca|Environment:Production

The company ID is the unique ID created for your company database by Business Central. You can request this from your IT department or your Business Central partner, but you can also find it in Business Central yourself. The tenant ID is the identifier of your organization. (To locate the three identifiers in Business Central, see the Note below.)

  • URL – Enter here the URL of the public Business Central environment: https://api.businesscentral.dynamics.com/v2.0/. It is by this URL that Netronic Manufacturing determines the ERP environment of the database.
  • Username – Enter here the Application (client) ID created in Installation step 2 - Enable communication with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
  • Password – Enter here the client secret you saved in Installation step 2 - Enable communication with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
  • Order – An integer that defines the display order of the databases in the Portal (optional).
  • Region – The geographical region where the Netronic Manufacturing services run and where the data is stored. These regions (environments) have been created to provide the best performance possible. For that reason, test and demo databases are separated from real, live customer data, and using servers in different locations helps minimize latency. For example, if you are located in North America, you will prefer to use cloud resources hosted there because the communication will be faster. You can select from three options here (you can change your selection later): 1. Partner Demo Environment, 2. Customer (West Europe), 3. Customer (North America).

Note

To find the unique ID of your company database and your tenant ID, search for "Companies" in Business Central, and select the corresponding list:

At the top of the Database page, check the Active checkbox to indicate that the database is in use. Inactive databases are ignored by Netronic Manufacturing. Check the Default settings checkbox if you are planning to set up multiple databases on the same server, and you designated one of them as master. The master database serves only as a template for other databases and cannot be used as a database.

When you are done with filling in the form, press Save at the bottom of the page.

On the User groups and Users tabs you can configure the access rights of your users. You need at least one user to complete the setup of Netronic Manufacturing, otherwise you cannot login to Netronic Manufacturing to perform the installation. For details, see Configure user groups and user rights in the Boyum Portal.

Next installation step:

Synchronize your Netronic Manufacturing database with that in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
