Technical requirements
- SAP Business One with Service Layer
- The Service Layer needs to be accessible from outside at IP 51.145.237.187 .
Setup
- To set up the Schedule integration, you will need an active Schedule subscription.
- Setting up your Schedule account will be part of your launch process.
To set up your SAP Business One Service Layer connection, sign in to your Schedule account (https://schedule.boyumcloud.com), open the Settings tab and click the SAP Business One connection settings menu item (shown in a red frame below).
This will open the Connection Settings dialog:
As your connection data is sensitive information, it will never be sent to the frontend. Therefore the dialog will always appear empty, even when a functioning connection exists.
The four fields you need to set:
- DB Address - The web address of your SAP Business One Service Layer instance
- DB Name - The name of the database you want to schedule
- User Name - The SAP user with access rights to the Service Layer
- Password - The SAP password of the selected user
- Boyum DataStore ID - The number used to identify your database. Contact Boyum Support to get your DataStore ID.
After entering all required information click OK.
The connection data will now be tested. If successful, the dialog will close and the connection has been successfully set. If an error occurs while testing, you will be presented with a detailed error message to help you check what might have gone wrong.
In order to keep the data managed by the scheduling engine at the minimum, you can separate scheduling relevant SAP Business One (SBO) resources from non-scheduling relevant ones. The functionality is based on the resource properties available under resource master data in SBO. To block the import of a resource from SBO into Schedule, you just need to select a property in the DoNotImportResource field of the B1 Import Settings dialogue and tick the given property's checkbox in the SBO resource master data.
Similarly, you can use one of the 64 resource properties available in the SBO resource master data to indicate whether you wish to use the given SBO resource as a resource group in Schedule. To do so, select a property in the IsResourceGroup field of the B1 Import Settings dialogue in Schedule and tick the property's checkbox in the SBO resource master data. The functionality liberates the SBO resource type Other to be used as it was originally intended by SAP.
