The Visual Advanced Production Scheduler doesn’t limit you to a single schedule version. Instead, it allows you to create multiple simulations and scenarios, compare them side-by-side, and then publish the one that best meets your objectives.
Simulations are a cornerstone of the Visual Advanced Production Scheduler. The concept works as follows:
-
You create a snapshot of the current production schedule - a copy that preserves your Dynamics 365 Business Central database from any impact.
-
This snapshot allows you to experiment with changes and evaluate how they affect the entire production schedule without altering live data.
-
You can create multiple snapshots, enabling the development of numerous scheduling scenarios as needed.
-
When you identify a simulation that best fits your needs, you can publish it, updating the Dynamics 365 Business Central database with the new schedule. Until you publish, your live data remains unchanged.
Additional important details:
-
Each simulation can be viewed both in tabular format and on a visual planning board.
-
You can make drag-and-drop adjustments directly on the visual schedule.
-
All modifications are automatically saved within the simulation table, ensuring your work is preserved.
