SAP B1 Licence Requirements
CRM for Outlook client technically does not require an SAP Business License in order to just view data on the context tab. If you want to use the "My data" tab or use some of the creation/update features (Create sales documents, update business partner, create service call etc.) you need an SAP License. This can be Pro, Limited or Indirect Access (user-based), although a limited license might not have all functions available, as it cannot open the SAP Business One client.
The user used to set up CRM for Outlook Server Component needs to have super-user access rights. Using a limited license here is not recommended and not supported, but an SAP Professional or Indirect Access license should work fine and comply with SAP rules.
User Permissions
If your SAP Business One installation has bespoke user permissions set up (e.g. with the B1 Usability Pack) then these permissions will not be carried across into CRM for Outlook. Instead, these permissions can be set up on the Boyum portal. An instructional video can be seen here.
