Q: What is Calendar from B1 Usability Package?
A: The Calendars give you the option to see your SAP Data in Calendar form (similar to your calendar in Outlook, but instead of meetings, it shows your SAP Data like Activities, Service Calls, when Sales orders are due, and when the employees have a birthday, just to name a few examples). You can see an introduction to the feature here:
Q: Where can I use Calendars?
A: We offer the calendar 3 places
- As B1 Dashboard Widgets
- As a Replacement to the normal SAP Calendar via the Toolbox Module
- As a Universal Function
Q: Are the Calendars customizable?
A: Yes, Please see this E-Learning playlist on how customization works
Q: Can I use data from Other Add-ons?
A: Yes, as long as you can write the SQL needed. It will however only be a read-only version of a calendar (see below question on Drag/Drop/Resize)
Q: Can the Calendars work with Resources?
A: Yes, See more here: https://youtu.be/30js2pZWWdc
Q: Can Calendars work with multi-scheduling in Service Calls?
A: It is possible, but the out-of-the-box calendars are defined for the single-user service calls setup. If you wish for the multi-schedule to work, you need to follow the steps indicated in this post: https://support.boyum-it.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360010998637-B1UP-Calendar-Multi-scheduling-from-Service-Calls
Q: Can I make my own Drag/Drop/Resize Actions (to custom data)?
A: No, Only Boyum can add new Drag/Drop/Resize actions. Please submit the request for new object types here: https://support.boyum-it.com/hc/en-us/community/topics/200025797-Feature-Requests-B1-Usability-Package
Q: Can I make custom navigation (decide what happens when I double-click a calendar entry)?
A: Yes, You can have a Universal Function launch when you double-click: See the Object Type Field in the documentation for more information: https://help.boyum-it.com/B1UP/add_edit-calendar-sources.html
Q: My SAP Object (example Sales Order) does not have time (only dates). Is it still possible to use?
A: Yes, All we need is a start date, then we can show the entry as an "All Day" event. You also in some cases have the option to add UDFs to represent End data and Start/End Time. See how in this video:
Q: Is the Calendar Available in the B1 Web Dashboard?
A: No, we do not have the feature available outside the B1 Client
