The purpose of the Perfion Compare Items tool is to make it easy to identify differences between up to 4 items sharing the same base feature. It also allows you to copy values from one item to the other(s).
The Compare Items option is part of the right-click menu, but it is available only if you selected 2-4 items. It can also be activated by the shortcut Alt+M. In the examples below, we have selected 3 items for comparison.
Clicking the option opens a modal where you can see the master data of the selected items beside each other.
As mentioned, you can add up to 4 items to the comparison. To add another item, click Add item to compare + in the top right corner of the screen (shown in a blue frame in the screenshot). Items can be moved around in the comparison table by drag & drop.
You can pick from the available languages from the language selector (shown in orange frame above).
At the top of the screen, there is a toggle switch (shown in a red frame above). When in Show all rows position, as in the screenshot, it displays all the data. When it is switched to Show only differences, it displays only features where at least one value is different.
By default, the base item is the one on the left. However, you can change this by ticking the asterisk icon in the header of the desired item's column. In the above screenshot, you can see the default assignment, which is indicated by the asterisk turned orange (flagged by the red arrow). Any value that is different from that in the base item is highlighted by a yellow frame in the comparison modal.
In the column header of each item, there is a Copy icon (one of them is indicated by a blue arrow in the screenshot). Clicking it will copy all the values to all the other items. The similar Copy icons beside all the values in the table serve to copy the given value to a selected item or to all of them. One of these icons is indicated by a green arow in the screenshot. (The copy options are also available in the context menu of the feature value.)
Should you wish to revert any change done to an item, click the Undo icon in the item's column header. One of them is indicated by a pink arrow in the screenshot. To revert all the changes made in all items, press the Undo button in the bottom left corner of the modal (shown in a pink frame above).
Click the Save icon in the column header of an item to save the changes made in the item. One of those icons is flagged by a purple arrow in the screenshot. To save all the changes to all items in one go, click the Save button in the bottom right corner of the modal (in a purple frame above). If you change any of the items and try to close the page without saving, a warning will remind you about the unsaved changes, and you will be prompted whether you want to change all or none.
