New features
- Inspect / Manager
Goods receipt inspection processes have been greatly enhanced by introducing automatic warehouse booking. When configuring goods receipt automation rules, now you will find a new section, called Warehouse release, on the Post events card. Here you can specify the route of incoming goods before and after inspection. You can select the Source warehouse, i.e. the storage where the goods are received. From there, the stock will be moved on to the Inspection warehouse that you specify. Finally, depending on the result of the inspection, the items land in the Target warehouse for passed inspections or the Target warehouse for failed inspections, selected from the respective dropdowns. If the Target warehouse for passed inspections is managed by bins, you can set the target bin. For each step, you can tick the radio buttons Perform transfer or Transfer request to decide whether to create and post a Transfer Order document in Business Central for the given purpose with or without Direct Transfer enabled, respectively. All transfers and transfer requests are logged under a new menu item in Inspect / Manager labelled Transactions. Beside the label, you can see the number of failed transactions, if any. The list of transactions shows the purpose, type, status and date of the events, as well as the number of the corresponding inspection order. The list can be set to show all transactions or only those that, for some reason, could not be processed. Selecting a transaction from the list will open the transaction’s details page, which has two tabs. Its Overview tab shows general information, including batch and serial numbers, if any. The other tab, called Processing details, is particularly useful if a transaction fails. It contains a log of processing attempts along with the corresponding error messages. The page has a toggle switch that you can set to ignore the errors and a button that you can press to retry processing.
- Inspect
So far, when setting up tests in an inspection plan or inspection order in Inspect / Manager, inspection managers could only use a name field to describe them. Now they can also enter further specifications for their tests, such as the norm/standard/certificate the test is based on using the newly added Additional information field. This information is also displayed for inspectors when they process the related inspection orders in Inspect / Operator.

New features
- Produce
Shop floor operators can now add a remark to the operation that they are working or planning to pick up. They can enter the text in a newly implemented field in the operation's detail view in Produce / Operator, and save it by clicking a button. Once the remark is saved, the production manager can review it in the detail view of the corresponding production order, and take any necessary action.
New version [April 30, 2025 @10:00 UTC]
New features
- Inspect
Inspect now allows shopfloor inspectors to share their observations with the inspection manager using their terminal application. Inspectors can enter their comments regarding each test of each sample in a newly added text field in Inspect / Operator. The comments are saved upon every save action. Before completing an inspection order, the inspector can review not only the inspection results, but also the comments about them on a separate tab. As soon as a comment is saved in Inspect / Operator, it is displayed as part of the results in the inspection order detail view in Inspect / Manager. The number of comments is also indicated for each test and each sample in the terminal and the manager application, respectively. Thanks to the new commenting functionality, the manager can get more information and stay fully up-to-date about the inspection process.

Moreover, the recorded starting and ending times are registered in Business Central Capacity Ledger entries.

Is there any plan, to connect those remarks from operators on Production order, to the SAP Business One as well? It would be great to inform manager automatically, that there is/was some issue on operator site. This way, manager will not be updated about that. If that would be in SAP we can create alert. Also, adding option to take a pictures on operator side, I am guessing is impossible to add to this solution.
Hi Zdenek, thanks for your comment. We fully agree with you, and yes, we do have plans to record remarks in the ERP system. According to the current development schedule, this will be implemented before the end of the year. We are also planning to enable operators to add pictures, but that's not on this year's roadmap.
