I see both sides of this request.
On one hand, if negative inventory is allowed in SAP Business One, there is a valid argument that Scan should technically support it as well—potentially controlled via a dedicated Scan setting and accompanied by a clear warning to the user.

On the other hand, from a WMS execution perspective, allowing negative stock breaks the core principle of physical validation. It can invalidate key processes such as FEFO, reservations or traceability, and ultimately shifts the problem to later inventory discrepancies rather than solving it at the source.

Considering these trade-offs, while I understand the need in certain edge scenarios, this is not something we see as a priority at the moment, and therefore it is not planned for the near roadmap.

100% correct. If you have it in your hands and it needs to be transferred, an inaccuracy in your stock file should not prevent the transfer. A customer could be waiting!

Negative inventory is used to support fulfillment when keeping SAP in sync with actual stock transactions is delayed (i.e., stock is physically received, but the GRPO is not created in near-real-time, and the received goods need to shipped to a customer).

Produmex Scan and Produmex WMS both support real-time stock updates in SAP. Both products fulfill the vital goal of 'recording the transaction in the system (SAP) at the time and place where the transaction physically happens'. Whenever a customer uses negative inventory the first question is: what is the process for updating the receipt of the stock (either reception from a PO or a Production Order)? Or are their testing / QC procedures that make the received stock unavailable? If so, then what is the process for making stock available after it passes testing?  Is this delaying stock visibility in the system? Can the reception teams in the warehouse use Produmex Scan to make the stock available?

Bottom line - In general, Produmex Scan inherently addresses the kinds of process issues that cause the need for negative inventory in the first place.

    Hope this helps,
