Feature Request: Add Unconditional Human-In-The-Loop (Yes/No) Confirmation to Input Fields

Sebastian Alexander

Description:
This feature gives scanner users the ability to manually confirm a scanned lot number before officially posting a transaction. This adds an extra layer of human validation to the process.

Functional Overview:

  • The Action: The handheld scanner prompts the user to confirm the lot or batch number right after scanning, but before posting.
  • The UI: It displays a simple confirmation pop-up screen with "Yes / No" options.

Value Proposition:
This additional confirmation step will help prevent transactions from being posted with incorrect lot or batch numbers.

The Customization Challenge:

  • Data Limits: Lot and batch numbers vary significantly in format and length across vendors.
  • The Gap: It is not feasible to define a fixed validation rule, SQL query, or condition.
  • The Problem: The new batch number does not exist yet in SAP, so the system cannot make an automatic decision on whether it is a correct number.
  • The Request: We need a way to trigger a "Yes/No" message box unconditionally for human verification, without relying on a database data rule.
