Add the functionality of a Full mobile unit in the production flow and enable the use of another mobile unit.
RespondidaHello,
This functionality is highly requested and adds value to the product. This issue is present in several of our clients. When executing the production flow:
- A mobile unit is selected to perform the picking.
- The system indicates that the positions have been selected.
- One item remains pending to be picked.
- When attempting to pick it with another mobile unit, the system does not provide the option to do so.
That is why we would like to suggest the implementation of this requirement:
We need the system to provide an option to indicate that the cart is full, so that the remaining picking can continue and be assigned to another mobile unit.
We appreciate your consideration of our request.

Thank you for your request. Let us clarify the situation and provide you with the available options.
In Produmex WMS, all pick list lines are locked once assigned to a picker.
This guarantees stock consistency, prevents over-reservations and ensures that the inventory is always available for the operator.
Because of this, deleting or re-assigning a reservation is considered an important task and requires supervisor action.Standard Workaround – Unblock the Wave
There is a standard way to release a pick list that has been partially executed so another picker can continue the job:- From SAP Desktop → Produmex → Reports → Open Documents Report, a supervisor can select the pick list and press “Unlock Wave”.
- This frees the document from the user that locked it and makes it available for another mobile device to continue the picking.

⚙️ Other Configuration Possibilities:If the issue is recurrent because the carts get full before completing a pick list, you may also consider:
-
Adjust Pick List Size
-
Configure the Pick List Proposal query to split documents according to the maximum volume/weight that a cart can hold.
-
-
Divide by Item Type
-
Use the Item Pick Type field to automatically create smaller pick lists depending on the item category (e.g. bulky vs. small items).
-
-
Full Pallet vs. Partial Quantities
-
Configure the default quantity defined on the item to generate separate pick lists for full pallet quantities and partial quantities (this is indicated on the PMX_PLTY depending on the pick list type).
-
These options allow you to avoid oversized pick lists and reduce the need for manual unlocking. Please consult support or a consultant if this could help on your business case.
🔮 Future Outlook
On the Produmex WMS roadmap, several functionalities will be available in the SAP Web Client.
It is very likely that the equivalent of the Open Documents Report will also be included, meaning users (with permission) could unlock a pick list directly from a mobile device in the warehouse via web. -
Hello Miguel,
Thank you for your clarification and for sharing the available alternatives. However, we would like to emphasize that the requirement we raised is not addressed by either the wave unlocking procedure or by adjusting the size of the pick lists.
What is specifically needed is that the same picker can continue the picking process using more than one mobile unit. In other words, the picker should be able to indicate on the device that the current cart is full and then proceed with another cart, without requiring supervisor intervention or manually unlocking the wave.
This point is crucial for our clients’ operations, as carts frequently reach full capacity, and the goal is to ensure the picking flow remains agile and continuous.
We sincerely appreciate your response and kindly request that the feasibility of this requirement be further analyzed, as this functionality would provide significant added value to the operation.
Best regards,
Lorena. -
Hi,
The possibility to select a new moveable location should be available in all picking flows.
There is already a feature request for multi-picking that you could vote on also: To be able to select another moveable location in multi-picking.
