Transfer of multiple items to be simplified
RespondidaThe transfer process is very long and error prone. It needs an overhaul. I’ve stopped my staff from using it as they get lost and make errors. When transferring more than one item the user is unsure of what they’ve scanned, what the batch count should be. It also takes a very long time. It’s quicker to use SAP or our Point of Sale. Using a mobile device should be quicker! Pick source and destination WH….Scan beep scan beep scan beep. All lines loaded. POST. Why does it take so many button hits and back and forth between screens. The work around is to do do a Goods Issue / and a corresponding Goods receipt for warehouse out / in as you can scan multiple items quickly (list creation). Not great practice but try transferring 100 items from WH 01 to WH 02!!! It takes a ridiculous amount of time using the Stock Transfer module in Produmex Scan.

The Stock Transfer flow includes one additional screen compared to Goods Issue precisely because it is mandatory to also capture the destination bin location.
That said, Produmex Scan provides several tools to make the process significantly more efficient, depending on the inventory characteristics, system configuration and how the business process is defined.
For example:Good practice
-
Implementing GS1 barcodes to scan item and batch information in a single scan.
Configuration options
-
Enabling "Multi-item Stock Transfers" (under General Scan settings tab) to allow adding multiple items to the same transfer before posting.
Scan Customization Framework
-
Prefilling the batch automatically when it is unique (or displaying a dropdown when it is not).
-
Prefilling quantities based on existing stock.
-
Keeping the destination bin location by default for consecutive stock transfer lines.
-
Automating the transition to the destination bin location screen once all required item details are resolved (depending on configuration and data completeness).
If customers experience the process as tedious, the recommended approach is to identify which steps can be automated or simplified and review them with our team. As a first step, this can be done via Support, and if needed, via Consulting to further optimize the Scan flow for their specific scenario.
