B1 Dashboard - Is it possible to set a default for a filter element.
AnsweredHi
I have on several occasions come up against a situation where it would be good to have a filter and set but be able to set a default.
E.g.
I am creating a sales widget based on quarterly data. The quarters are not calendar quarters so I am unable to use a range filter. I want to set a Combo Box filter with the current and last 4 quarters and have it default to the current quarter when the dashboard is opened not (All).
I am creating a widget for production to enable a list of items that require action. I'd like to add a filter for warehouse but by default set the filter to warehouse '01' not (All).
I'm aware that the widgets save the filter options selected when they are added to a dashboard. Sometimes these widgets would be used in an external viewer or launched from a function button where the filter options are not currently saved.
Many thanks

Have you tried this setting? (It is not defaults as such but it do remember last selection)

Hi Rasmus
Yes, and it works well for dashboards.
Often though we launch these from documents, business partners, items and BoMs. This is so they aren't behind other forms or can be moved to another screen in the external viewer. This doesn't remember the filter options.
If the filter options were remembered on the internal/external viewer as well as the dashboards then that would be great.
Even better would be the option on each filter in the widget editor to set a default filter selection with an additional option to say whether to always use the default or to use the last saved option.
Thanks

Ok, Thank you for explaining. There is, unfortunately, no default system out of the box in the 3rd party system that makes up the Dashboard system, so it is something we would need to build up from scratch (pretty difficult due to the open-ended nature of the Dashboards)... But let's see if this gathers enough votes.
