O365/M365 Microsoft Graph API - Send As Shared Mailbox
AnsweredHi there,
For Print & Delivery, I would like to see the ability to send using the MS Graph API for shared mailboxes.
Right now, we can only send from licensed mailboxes, which is awkward because only users are licensed. We would like to use mailboxes such as "no-reply" or "sales" (etc...).
Without knowing the implementation used currently, I'm not sure how to help with finding a direct solution, but would be willing to work on any code required/testing with our Microsoft Tenant.
With many B1 customers moving to O365/M365, I can imagine how valuable it would be.
Sincerely,
Bijan (Atlantic Aqua Farms)

I am not quite sure what the use case scenario is, but you already can send from a shared mailbox by using the smtp connection. Just use the credentials of a authorized user and set the from email to: sales@yourcompany.com or like: Sales [MyCompany] <sales@mycompany.com>

Hi Ramon,
We were instructed to use "Exchange" and then the new method to authenticate for M365 - but then couldn't enter the details of a "from email".
I guess the worry is that we'll lose on functionality for shared inboxes.
I've since tested with SMTP and it works fine....

Good to hear !
The only issue that you might experience is that the sent items of outlook are stored on the personal account.
You have to setup your exchange environment to also leave a copy on the shared mailbox if you want others to see it. -
Okay ... I'll test this out - we definitely need to keep a record on the shared.
Any chance there will be a "send on behalf" feature for Exchange-Online via P&D?

I am not working for boyum, just helping sometimes :)
But to point you in the right way :
Go to your O365 admin center, groups, shared mailboxes, there you will find the settings per shared box.

I think what he's referring to is similar to the B1 Mailer setup. You configure the mailer with "Info@" but the email gets sent from the user's email address that is listed in OUSR.
I might be wrong though.

Any Update on this?
Is it possible to send via shared mailbox?
