Print & Delivery Modern Authentication for shared Mailboxes Answered

Simon Simms

A lot of customers have specific email addresses that they would like to send emails out from such as the following.
Accounts@
Sales@
Purchasing@
Dispatch@

The Modern Authentication method in Print & Delivery requires a user mailbox setup for each of these addresses, most customers only have a shared mailbox setup in office 365, this means that the customer has to convert shared mailboxes to user mailboxes and incur additional 365 license costs.

Sending via a shared mailbox is exposed in Microsoft Graph, https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/graph/outlook-send-mail-from-other-user?utm_source=chatgpt.com

Or at least can the setup accommodate a “send as” filed, this could allow for one mailbox to be used and licensed but send as the shared mailbox accounts thus reducing the number of mailboxes that need to be converted from a shared mailbox to a user mailbox.
