Conditional WIP settlement redirection based on "Production Type"

Ignacio Falugue

Hello Boyum Team,

Following up on advanced financial setups, there is a strong need for more granular control over WIP clearing based on the nature of the Work Order.

Business Scenario:Many of our clients use Beas not just for standard manufacturing, but also for Engineering, Quality Control, Prototypes, and Pre-series runs. These WOs inherently behave differently in terms of cost absorption and variance.

Proposed Standard Feature:

We suggest adding conditional WIP settlement redirection based on the "Production Type" assigned at the Work Order Header level (BEAS_FTHAUPT).

  • Trigger Condition: During the WO Close or "Clear WIP Account" process, the system evaluates the Production Type.
  • Account Override: If the WO is assigned to specific user-defined Production Types (e.g., R&D, Prototype, Quality), the system bypasses standard account determination and redirects the total remaining WIP variance to a designated G/L account mapped exclusively to that Production Type. If it does not match, standard determination applies.

Looking forward to your thoughts on this.
