Reservation for batches like the reservation for serials in workorders
Hi,
customer ask for a reservation of batches in workorders. For serial numbers the reservation of number exists since years. You're able to print a lable for a workorder with correct serial befor it is booked,
Same requirement for Batches. In the manufacturing process the batch is printed on the Item and the booking is done later. It will be very helpful when the batch from reservation is used for printing and booking.

We would define a standard quantity for automatic batches in the item and create as many batches as the quantity of the position requires.

that are 2 Topics. 1st is the Reservation of batches (my), 2nd is the Generation of Batches (yours).
We've done the generation topic at a customer. Each package quantity is a batch! For stock transfer
only full batch quantity is allowed. Nearly each purchase item is batch controlled. There are 3 warehouses
with stock transfer. You can generate the stock transfer automatic, system look to the requirement of all
BOM's up to a date. In each warehouse are 20000 Batches at a time. The inventory turnover ratio is less than 10 days.
You need special inventory scan features to do an inventory in less than 8 hours for 20000 packages.

Hi,
Our client is generating batches for each pallet but the inventory is in meters, so they already know the meters in each pallet, and also, it would be very useful to know the batch number before they start working, so, reserving batches by quantity will solve this problem.
