CRM for outlook - Only allow user to create leads Answered

Dear all, 

I'm trying to configure the permission in a way that a user can only create leads, not customers or suppliers.  

As far as I can see there are 4 authorisations related to this:

  1. create business partner
  2. create supplier 
  3. create customer 
  4. create lead 

I tried giving myself access to 4 only. In this case, when I click on "add business partner" button, I get an error immediately saying "you are not allowed to add BP".  

I tried giving myself access to 1 and 4, and found that I'm able create business partners of any type.  

This presence of all these 4 authorisitons is very perplexing.  Am I doing something wrong? How should I achieve the goal of letting a user create leads only?

    Hello Dave,

    As you mentioned it is very simple and we have only these 4 options, I suggest you upgrade to the latest version and if the problem persists, please contact your local Partner.
