B1 Up MailChimp Add eMail Change Subscribers
AnsweredHello,
If a Customer change it's email in the Contact Table
Ex :from xyz@yahoo.com
to
xyz@gmail.com
The Customer email doesn't get sync unless we create a new Contact
This is causing us a lot a frustration and Customer that are not getting our emails since they still received it at their old emails and there's absolutetly no way for us to be able to track what was change and what was not
Please find a solution to this issue as this is happening quite often in our industrie and we are losing sight of our customers
Thank you for your help

We have investigated this and while it is possible to change the email in MailChimp's interface we would say that it is a wrong functionality as this can lead to breaking GDPR (because the new mail does not need to opt-in to the email change).
We have contacted MailChimp Legal about this but have not received a reply back.
What is your opinion on this? If a customer change email we would say they would need to consent to allow newsletters to a new email... Else a spammer could just create a bunch of subscribers to own emails and then change them to emails of people that never signed up... To us, that is deeply concerning and we would rather not make a feature that essentially breaks GDPR (even if OK from your customers)

Good evening,
If we keep track in SAP of the email update via the change Log
We can prove who did the Customer update and at what timeSince it's possible to change the email manually in MailChimp my feeling is that it's the exact same process but done automaticaly
Otherwise can we automaticaly create a new *MailChimp Contact* and automaticaly send the Opt-In GDPR email
There would be 2 emails for the same SAP Partner contact but at least this way no customers are left forgottenOtherwise we are slowly losing contact with our customers
Thank You

Yes, and that is what we find wrong (and the reason we contacted MailChimps legal team... still no reply btw.). We feel the ability to change in Mailchimp break GDPR and for that reason, we do not wish break laws with B1 MailChimp.
Don't you feel like it is wrong on MailChimps side that you can do this (or perhaps not wrong but that it does not resend an opt-in)?
