Lucene Search on Clients
AnsweredWe're trying to roll out Lucene for B1 Search but we've come across a problem where Lucene seach works fine from the B1 client installed on the server (where B1UP Server Component is installed), but defaults to the standard search on the desktop B1 clients.
Is there a requirement to have the index folder in a shared location? We've tried to locate the index on shared drives both on and off the server (e.g. //nas/B1search), but that kicks up a System.UnauthorizedAccessException error.
The documentation for Lucene is still quite limited so I'm having trouble working this out. Any advice woudl be appreciated.

Turns out it was a firewall problem. The server component created a rule to open port 8999 but it was still being blocked. Temporarily disabling the firewall is a quick fix but I'm not sure why the rule isn't functioning. So not a B1UP problem in the end.
