B1Up - WhatsApp function
Not plannedInclude UFs for some functions using whatsApp. Example: 1 - Sending SAP document prints or PDFs via WhatsApp (Print & Delivery could also do this); 2 - SAP alerts sent to WhatsApp; 3 - Approval of documents through WhatsApp.

Hi All who voted for this Feature Request on WhatsApp Integration,
We, have been looking into this request and I would like to start a conversation here on the need for this and what kind of customers you have in mind for such a solution.
Looking at the technical and business side of WhatsApp, we can see the Facebook (owner of WhatsApp) are very protective of the service to avoid spam. For that reason the only allow medium and large business access to the official WhatsApp api meaning what you will need to prove that you will send quite a hefty amount of messages each month (the minimum range seems to be at least 10.000 each month. Second, you will need to pay for these messages)
As for small businesses there seems to be no official automated way to send messages (there is a bunch of unofficial workarounds and hacks, but they can cause bans from whatsApp so we can't use such)
So I'm in doubt that because SAP Business One is for small business that any of our customers would be accepted into the WhatsApp Business API...
But let me hear your thoughts of the matter or do you already have customers that have the API?

Hi,
We are based in Kolkata, India. We are using SAP Business One since last 4 years along with B1UP and B1 P&D since last 2 years. There are a lot of small businesses who have started to use Whatsapp as their preferred way of communication. Here people are more whatsapp friendly than emails. Even basic accounting softwares like Tally are offering whatsapp integration these days.
Whatsapp has also opened their API for small businesses who are using whatsapp's services for day to day transactional communications like sending Sales Order, Invoices, Payment Reminders, etc to customers.
I am trying to connect Whatsapp Business API with the help of Http Trigger but have been unsuccessful so far. I have tested messaging through Postman successfully but till now no success with Http Trigger.
It would be great to have Whatsapp for Business as an option in Http Trigger along with Teams and Slack.
India has the most WhatsApp users at 487 million currently and the number is rising at a rate of 16.6% every year. We would be lacking behind our competition if we are not making use of whatsapp for business.
Hope to hear from you soon.
Thanks a lot.
