Settings - Fields - Setup... - Set UDFs Inactive for certain users
AnsweredWe would like to set certain UDFs (in User-Defined Fields window) as inactive for certain users and my understanding is that it can be set up through the "Settings - Fields - Setup.." interface, but only as signed-in users and not for any other users as administrator. Any ideas around this limitation?
Thanks

Hello Dieter, this seems to be SAP's standard functionality, with B1UP you can use two modules:
- Make items read only. https://youtu.be/d9EJkIowQYE
- B1 Validation system and a Macro. https://youtu.be/3PaXbv8vf0s

Hello Yaremi,
The B1UP read-only and validation function does not work with UDF fields which are not on the main window, hence my reference to "Settings - Fields - Setup..". I want to hide the UDFs from users to prevent access via Cntrl+Shift+U. No point in hiding it on main if it is still available through Cntrl+Shift+U. There is a work-around but this requires login to each user account which is not feasible.

Hi,
If you move them using the original SAP functionality (Tools => Edit Form UI) to main window and then hide with IPT it isn't working for you ?

Hi,
The Edit Form UI can only change fields on the main window, but not on the User-Defined Fields View. This is the issue, I need to hide the User-Defined Fields view for users.

Hi
With edit form ui you can drag drop the udf to the main screen and then use the ipt
Good luck -
Hi Nadav,
I cannot move or even select UDF from "User-Defined Fields" to move it to the main window in Edit Form UI mode. I do not think this is possible. Have you tried it?
