SQL Report UF - Run/simulate Option Completed
When I´m developing SQL Report UF´s and I want to execute it to see the result and start to do the paint job in the columns, I need first to create the trigger for it... maybe put in the main menu or some function button.
Of course at the end I will have to trigger it in somewhere, but normally I start the report development by this SQL and would be wonderful if there is a button "RUN" in this UF window, so it simulates the report execution.
Of course will not work for those codes who use a dynamic sintax because will not be in the screen but for any other who uses variables will be great.

Hi Tacio. Thank you for the request.
It has actually come up a few times in internal discussions but the concern has always been what you mention at the end (that dynamic syntax would not work).
So the question is: Is it good to have a button that only works sometimes; would you not get a "relationship" with such a button being that since it will not work half the time and therefore not really trust/use it?
If we are to do it I instead think it should work for all SQL Reports (would be fairly simple to insert dummy data into the keywords) but then you would end with a report with no data and the fear again is that it brings more confusion than gain...
Let's evaluate other peoples opinion on this one but thank you for submitting what I should have done many years ago (stupid of use not to ask the community and just assume internally)
Similar to this one from my past life:

Thanks Dave, let´s vote together.
I think this is a nice to have.
I have recently started adding a right click menu configuration to the form I am working with to provide a two click scenario for repeated testing.. No issues with Dynamic syntax (except for the errors I create myself)
Very quick to set-up & remove.
OK, You convinced me... From B1UP 2020.06 a test-button exists
Please note however that the button only works in OK mode
And if it detects dynamic Syntax it will not run.
