Goods receipt idle time for MRP : to change date of requierement
Dears,
As discussed in support ticket 97766 with Kiran Kumar and Thorsten, the following case is causing our customers some problem with delays with procurement.
If we define some idle time in beas settings
The date of requirement is not changed, only the date of order. If we create a purchase order the date of requirement is used as delivery date (POR1.ShipDate) but that means that the supplier will deliver too late for the quality checks to be done (in the example w us the idle time for receipt to prevent quality check time).
The two dates (requirement and order date) should be changed by this setting.
As summed up by Thorsten
The documentation states that the Date of Requirement is NOT affected by the 'Goods Receipt Idle Time'.
However, if we create a SO for the Purchase Item itself, you will notice that the Date of Requirement will change as well.
The MRP shows a different Date of Requirement for the Purchase Item in case it's part of an Assembly, making the setting not provide any benefit at all.
In fact I even think that based on this example, we would need to have an additional column that tells you the calculated (recommended) Delivery Date for the PO, which is then to be used when creating a Purchase Order instead of the Date of Requirement.
At the moment beas discussed and chose not to include this evolution in the roadmap.
Thanks for your comments and votes if you are interrested too !
Best regards
