    Hi Balakumar

In order to better understand the context of your request, we will need a bit more information.

Do you mean that you have some macros that always have the debugger turned on?

Can you possibly give a scenario where that makes sense

    Hi Peter,

    Let's assume the below scenario:

    • I'm having a B1 Validation to fetch Item related details at Marketing document when I loose_focus at ItemNo field.
    • I received a complaint from an end-user that it is not fetching proper details for some document.

    Now, I have two option:

    1. Either, I need to restore the production database as demo database and debug the UF.
    2. Else, activate the debug in the Production database itself.

From the above option, option-1 is a lengthy process to do. Instead, if I opt the option-2 then my user will suffer until I finish my debugging activity. So, it is better to have an option to have Debug applicable to specific user(s) when it is active. OF course, if the debug is inactive (unchecked) then it won't appear for anyone.

    Hi Balakumar,

Does it make sense if the macro debugger just run for B1UP super-users?

I mean, users which can create B1UP configurations? In this way, the debugger would never be triggered by regular users.

    Hi Balakumar,

when you active the debug feature it is only shown for other users the next time a user starts B1UP as this information is cached in the memory. is this enough for you?

it can also be done but let us wait how many votes this gets

    Thanks Peter and Fernando,

Fernando's recommendation is also sufficing my requirement. I need some mechanism to disable Debugging window for normal users.

Thanks Peter for the consideration, let's wait for the vote!

    Hi Balakumar,

I was thinking in something simple, afterall, debugging is just for superusers!

But I do not understand how you may want to debug a macro which is being used by all other users in a productive environment. As you change the macro during the debugging process, other users will be affected even though the debugger is not being launched for them.

It is more usual to have another database or at least a copy of the macro, being triggered by a Validation that just is set for the consultant's SAP user (aka "manager"). So it is possible to debug in a production database without affection other users.

So, even though the debugger just runs for superusers, you may have to isolate the macro to run your tests without affecting the production environment.

    Hi Fernando,

I can understand your question that how can I update/debug a live UF when all users are using the same.

Actually, my scenario is that UF-Macro is having complex calculations and it was reported by a user that the calculation is wrong for some specific document (it is working properly for all other users and all other documents). Thus, it is mandated for me to debug in order to analyse where I went wrong.

As suggested I can duplicate the UF and trigger for manager user only (and of course, debug enabled). But still activating the debug for Boyum Superusers only will be the coolest option, since as you said debug is not for normal users!
