Adding Tabs to Project Management screen
AnsweredThe new PM functionality in B1 is going to be the heart of our implementation. The screen is new so not fully supported with DP API however, we've been able to use most of the tools on the screens. The main project screen is odd though in that all items on the first pane level - it's 1 in this case - are marked to show on levels 1-6 and levels 1-6 are already in use. I was able to add a tab but needed a button to get back to a pane level where the rest of the screen shows again. Nothing shows when the custom tab is up because it's outside the 1-6 range. Also, if the screen is closed with the new tab showing it crashes the B1 client on next trying to open it. Likewise, moving to next record while on the custom tab crashes B1.
Is there anything that can be done to make this work properly?

Hi Scott,
It is a bit hard to understand the scenario, especially the following sentence: "all items on the first pane level - it's 1 in this case - are marked to show on levels 1-6 and levels 1-6 are already in use" - can you please maybe attach a screenshot to better understand what you are seeing?
Thanks, Naama

Just an update - SAP has acknowledged a bug here - hopefully it is the same. See SAP Note # 2330077.

Sure - here are a couple - on most screens when I see the system info for something that is to appear at all pane levels, the pane level is set to 0. On the Project screen it is set to 1-6 meaning that the items don't show on all levels but only on 1 through 6. Since there are already 6 tabs, an attempt to add one causes the items marked this way to disappear.
Here is the BP Name on the Business Partner Master. Note that sys info says Pane=1

But on the Project screen the BP Name shows pane=1-6.

Here is the Project screen with a tab added.

And here is when the tab is selected. The button allows me to return to seeing the rest of the screen. If left in this state and attempt to load data with the arrows or close and re-open the screen causes the B1 client to crash.

Let me know what else I can add.
Regards,
Scott
