YES ! This would make my life so easy.
Mostly on the attachment tab we have additional files to print, also on the inventory items.
We ship dangerous goods which needs papers combined with the delivery, if we could check if it are dangerous goods and print the papers combined with the delivery would be perfect. -
I need too.
-
If the additional thing is crystal reports then it is already possible (just add another report config line.
Else it is a bit more tricky as it is not all file types there is an automated print function, so if we do it it would be for only a fixed set of extensions -
It is with other document types, but only pdf with a sql condition will solve 90%
-
I do not understand this comment. Please explain a bit more?
-
can the report config line take parameters from the document rows, hence attache reports keyed by item number, hence one attachment per item on a document?
-
@Matthew: No that is unfortunately not possible
-
Hi Rasmus, took a while but i lost track on this one.
What we actually need is some kind of automated print function based on the file attached in the item master data.
Scenario :We ship orders that contain dangerous goods (Li-on batteries), the courier requires additional documents that must be packed with the box. We have these documents attached to the items master data.
What we need is that on adding the delivery note, the line items are checked which one requires an additional document on shipping, now we only receive a warning and have to manually check/open and then print the documents.
Would be great that on printing the delivery note that the other required documents can be printed with it. -
Is this still a point of discussion or is this not possible at all ?
Still keeping my fingers crossed for this function, as we would use it at least 15-35 times a day. -
Still not planned as almost no tool offer command line printing... Thing like Word can do it but PDF and others do not. So the feature would in our opinions give less gain than pain

Hi Rasmus,
I am not a programmer, but i have a tool that claims to be able to print PDF from the windows command line. (which in my case is by far the most use scenario)
However i am not able to to get it running right now but "sharing is caring".http://www.columbia.edu/~em36/pdftoprinter.html
In SAP i try to call a UF with the "external start" and then print the document name. based on line loop, but did not get there yet. -
Got a workaround running now, still its a nice function to have it fully integrated in SAP.
-
Correct, there are many tools that can do it, but the issue is that we can't expect such tools to be installed around the world. At the same time, we would end up with much support on how to set such a tool up + other will then ask why it can print *.pdf files extra but they have a *.abc file to a special program.
I know it is annoying but the honest answer is that command line printing is a mess out there and we will rather enter the area...
-
I agree on the extensions, they are endless.
With the link i gave earlier it does not even require installation so it's a quite clean solution, hopefully it keeps running, as you mentioned command line printing is a disaster :) -
I would like to see the ability to add an additional crystal report to an email where the data from the report relies on the data in the delivery note such as the sales employee.

Hello,
just wanted to check, if there is something planned now or will be planned, as we have customers, which would be able to switch from another addon to B1UP if there wasn´t this limitation.
From the other addons point we can integrate vb - / c# - code into the rendering-process of the layout, which allowed us for example to call the default pdf-application in an extra process using a parameter for direct printing. -
Hi Daniel
I'm afraid it is not currently planned.
-
From 2022.02 we will offer this feature in limited form in that you can print additional pdf, txt and/or docx files. Any other formats are not supported.

Great news! :)
