B1 Validation 'Event' type to trigger on 9.1's multi-Line paste (i.e. paste from Excel) Event
AnsweredI have several B1UP validations that run on marketing documents anytime a user modifies certain line data (e.g. ItemCode, Quantity, Price, etc...). Most of these validations will either pop up a warning message or write some text to a field. The majority of my validations are using the "Validate [Leaving a Field]" event for the primary 'Trigger'. However, I have found that this event does not trigger in 9.1 when a user does a multi-line paste (i.e. paste from Excel). So I would like to request either a new 'Event' type or modification of the current 'Validate [Leaving a Field]' event so that I can still trigger validations even if users are entering values using this new functionality in 9.1.

Hi Heath
I'm afraid the SAP SDK does not offer such a feature for us to work with so we can't offer what we don't have in the B1 Validation System :-(
If SAP at some point add the option to get this event we will add it but untill then only way around it is to not use the Excel paste or have line loop validators that check all lines.

Hi Heath,
I moved this request under the "Feature requests" topic. Now you can vote for this by pressing the up arrow.

Hi Heath,
This was tested in SAP 9.2 PL02... As far as we can see, the validate event happens as expected.
Thanks, Naama

Hello Naama,
Thanks for the update! I am happy to hear the functionality seems to be in 9.2. I have some workarounds in place in my current version (9.1 PL05) that I look forward to eliminating.
Regards, Heath
