Thank you for your request. The development team have now added it to our internal planning-system for evaluation.

To all who have voted on this. We are doing early prototyping of this and wish to hear how you want to use that feature. Please write comment here on how you envision this should work?

    Examples (in order of complexity):
1- Resource name on the left; Date (day or week or month) at the top; Capacity in the data area. Ideally de Capacity should be a number over another number (e.g. 6/8 denoting 6 hours used of 8 available). Also would be great in the number can be coloured depending on a condition (e.g. 2/8 green, 8/8 amber, 10/8 red)
2- Task or Production Order Number on the left; dates at the top; duration on data area. The duration should be graphical rather than a number. Basically like a Gantt chart.
3- An actual calendar view, with a selection of whether you want to see a day/week/month. On each day we could display text (such as an Activity number and subject). Ideally we could drag and drop the activities.
4- This may have to be over a different post, but while you're thinking of this it would be awesome if we could have a view where we could drag and drop Sales Opportunities to move them between stages. Stage name in the top, Opp Name on the data area. Kind of like a Trello board. Maybe we could do this with Actiivities too, and moving them from one column to another would change the status (UDF).

Calendar and Gantt-Charts and Milestones would be great.

A mixture between Outlook and Google Calendar, MS-Project and Excel.

    Views: Day, Week, Month, Year

Filters: Articles, Resources, Employees, BP, Users

    Configurable Tooltips

Time-depending Colors like the B1UP Dashboard (e.g.: Tomorrow = blue, Today = yellow, Yesterday = red etc.)

Configurable: If Doubleclick on task > then open Article / Employee, Resource, etc.

    Example: https://business-one-easy.de/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/SAP-Business-One-EASY-Haak-GmbH-Bedienungsanleitung-Erweiterung-Mietkalender.pdf

This got me playing with the B1 Calendar.  Really like how it brings in Service Calls, Activities, B1's Holidays, and commitments from the Employee Master - Absences and Training.  Also the drag-and-drop option to change times of Activities, Service Calls, etc.

It would be great to incorporate all of this and more (as suggested above) into a B1UP Dashboard Widget.

    Thanks for the feedback all.

A first release (disclaimer: not even fully planned yet) will properly focus on the Calendar Part of things (Day/Week/Month views), much like Dave Mention.

My main goal here is (as always) customizability, so idea for now is source data driven by customizable SQL.

This will be an incredibly powerful function to add to dashboards, being able to control the entries within particular dashboard views by type, role, user or other fields (controlled in usual Boyum style handling i.e. SQL / other clever way).

From reading above comments, the drag & drop to move the actual entry date would be incredible, traditionally used for Activities and Service Calls but could this also work on other objects in view?, i.e. Activities working like how SAP calendar works and Boyum CRMFO with Sync on - However if a dashboard for example was written on something like Open Orders view with delivery date being the "hooked" address for placement in the calendar day and you could have filtering somewhere / how (i.e. by territory / BP) then you could see if you had orders going to the same destination / BP for example within a week to allow the customer doing routing to drag / drop to shift these around (shifting the header delivery date).

Also whilst entries are on the Calendar views it would be great if in the config you had a way to optionally dynamically colour them based on specific client needs (like BP type / group or rating, Resource, Employee, Service call type, rating etc.)

With creating the parts of the dashboard, if like the Day/Week/Month views you could also allow other custom filters to be defined into the dashboard widget parts by the builder for further slicing / reducing of the entries in view on the calendar - like you can do on the dashboards i.e. Service out the box with the Status, Priority, Call Type etc.

Any updates on this?  Time frame for a release?

There is no current time-frame for this as it has not made it into active development (Idea was good but stalled for a number of reasons). Not ruling it out but do not expect it short term.

    Hi Rasmus,

would it be possible to publish a rough roadmap in which the planned points are listed in a structured manner? (maybe as Excel Download)

    Example:

Dashboard >>>> New Features >>>> Cal. View >>>> Planned for 20xx
Dashboard >>>> New Features >>>> XXYYZZZ >>>> Planned for 20xx

UP >>>> Toolbox >>>> Go to new >>>> Add GOTONEW for Production Order >>>> Planned for 20xx

    P + D >>>> Blanket Agreement >>>> Add Blankett Agreement to P + D >>>> Planned for 20xx

At the moment we can't see which points are planned. And it makes no sense to add more Feature requests, because it is almost not possible to see if there already exists one or more Feature Requests for the same Point.

We all know that scheduled dates can change, but it would help us plan the future better.

We run an agile development process so plans are only 2 weeks at the time, so we really do not make long-term plans (we did in the past and as all that have tried such know they are changed anyway)

All modern firms like Microsoft, Google, etc. have all switch to this way of working to instead optimize time spent on actually delivering value instead of spending time planning too much.

Yes; I understand that can be frustrating as the end consumer (I feel the same way about Microsoft not being able to tell me when all their DRQs for MS Teams, Outlook, Visual Studio are released)  but it is the modern way of development.

So there is currently no timeframe on this feature and if it will even be made other than our goal is to bring the most value to the most people and this is based on votes (but not only votes... Future plans, resources, risk of extra support etc. will all have effect on when something is planned)

This feature is now in the works... A few early screenshots [open image url in new tab to see full resolution]

Please note: Everything is still subject to change but Comments/Questions are welcome...

I expect we will do an early preview in end February so if you are interested then please let me know so I can give you the preview bits.

Great news Rasmus and Team, this looks great already.

The changing of due date on documents with drag/drop in calendar for objects like sales order, service calls or Production Order due date is really powerful. Look forward to seeing how this turns out.
