Delivery date instant simulation for manufactured items Completed

Yannick Fetet

Hello,

The following question is frequently asked by end customer to sales persons : “when will you be able to deliver if I order 1000 pieces of item A right now *” .

(* depending on the customer's process, this theoretical delivery dates is simulated with material check and/or resources capacity check, as currently permitted in beas APS module)

There is no such feature in beas (yet) if we are not mistaking, so we created a script, that

  • allows to create a “simulation work order” from the item master data structure list with a singe right click,
  • opens the work order structure

This way the user has “only” to right click the work order and “dispatch forward”. (and delete the work order afterward).

Is there any better way?

can such a feature be implemented:  ideally, from a sales quotation or sales order (not created yet), by a right click on a line "simulate delivery date" (it would simulate for the item, and quantity specified in the line).

Thanks in advance for your feedbacks.

Best regards

    Hi

current this is the correct way. Use work order type "plan work order"

The production staff can plan this work order with the APS and can insert the planned deliver day.
BUT don't delete the  planned work order, because you must reserve the material and resources for this order.

Only if customer say: we don't want it, then delete this. This is a complete manual way. You can work with
    - Template list to check old planned work order
    - SAP Activities
